will join Northern California’s Pop Culture Convention,
SACANIME in January!
19 year old Japanese songstress, MIREI and the two original members of dance/vocal unit, Dancing Dolls’ Misaki & Mii will make an encore appearance at Northern California’s Pop Culture Convention, SACANIME to be held January 5th - 7th at Sacramento Convention Center.
In addition to headlining the Live Concert at the main music stage, the three will guest judge K-POP and J-POP Dance Battles, and Misaki will also dj EDM set at Late Night Dance as well as to lead Dance Workshop. Misaki was born in 1995 and she was still 3 years old when she started taking dance lessons at the talent school in Osaka. There, she met Mii and Hono then later formed Dancing Dolls. They were recognized as a serious dance/vocal unit in the highly competitive Japanese IDOL scene and their performances were viewed more than 10 million times on social video sites even before they made their major debut from Sony Music in 2012. Misaki is a group leader and choreographed every song they have performed as Dancing Dolls, and she also choreographed various other artists inclluding famous YouTuber – Max Murai, Nana Non etc...Lately, Misaki is choreographing musicals for Team ODAC, Sony Bancho Boys, and recently took a leading role on “Maju Donnor – KIX” by a popular theater company, Alice In Project.
As a solo artist, Misaki raps and makes beats as well as producing IDOL group such as “Kazehikaru Fukurou” which she also contributed as a lyricist and choreographes their stage performances and music videos. Mii started taking dance lessons when she was onlty 3 years old and put together a group with her childhood friends that later became Dancing Dolls . The music video of their latest single, “Michino Sekaie (to the unknown world)” is using 360 degree experience techonology and it was viewed more than 100,000 times within the first 24 hours after it was released online.
As a lead singer of Dancing Dolls, Mii won numerous titles for the Japanese IDOL competitions on major TV network including “Sakigake! (pioneer) IDOL Election” on Fuji Television, “IDOL Lottery” on TV Asahi and also hosted various domestic and international events including Nico Nico Cho Parties as a main MC.
Still 21 and a fulltime college student in Japan, Mii’s is preparing for her solo project along with Dancing Dolls. The three original members (= Dancing Dolls R. : Mii, Misaki and Hono) made US performance debut at Anime Expo in 2016 followed by Sacanime Winter 2017 and Anime Matsuri in Houston later in the spring, and continue to built US fanbases.

MIREI won Japan’s biggest dance competition when she was only ten, and has performed at some of the hottest clubs in NYC as well as being featured in the prestigious US gospel choir. She released her American debut single when she was only 14 followed by her major release from Sony Music in 2015.
In July, 2016, MIREI dropped her debut album titled “My Way” that charted #1 on iTunes followed by a summer smash, “Golden Tower” by Radio Fish. MIREI made several live appearances at Japanese POP Convention in the US major cities performing her original songs as well as covers including of Porter Robinson’s “Shelter”. The audience also gave rave reviews for her rendition of “Formation” by Beyoncé with the help of Dancing Dolls R.. On July 26th 2017, MIREI released the follow up EP featuring a remake of “Negai” by Doji-T, a mega-hit hip hop love anthem from 2008. The EP again scored #1 on the charts and also ranked in Top 10 on LINE MUSIC, with outstanding support from the teenagers. MIREI also performed as a main cast of Hip Hop Musical based on the blockbuster comic, Tokyo Tribe in fall 2017.
