Japan’s #1 singing sensation SHOTA (a.k.a. Shota Shimizu) is releasing his first U.S. EP entitled, BE WITH YOU, on iTunes U.S. store, February 15.

Followed by SHOTA’s self produced debut single, “Home,” which defines his mellow hip-hop story telling singing style that instantly made him a Japanese household name. BE WITH YOU continues with the up-tempo, smooth love song, “Kimigasuki,” originally released in Japan in December, 2009, and the soul flavored, “Aishiteru,” both songs mean “I love you,” but in different stages. The EP closes with a re-mix of “Home,” produced by Ali Shaheed Muhammad of a Tribe Called Quest, branded with his signature club beat and a hypnotic twist to today’s Japanese Pop sound.
All of the songs are sung in Japanese, with the exception of the title track,“Be With You.” JOE who has not only recorded but has performed with SHOTA describes him this way, “SHOTA is the consummate professional and perfectionist in the studio. It was impressive to see how quickly he picked up on the lyrics and was able to add his cultural flair as well.”
